Whether it's spoken about or not, every company has a culture. It's the sum of the written and unwritten rules that people in an organization follow. It's not always simple to capture as some parts of culture are harder to put your finger on. It’s more of a feeling than a formula. Keep reading and we’ll do our best to try and capture the unique culture we have at Stable
Ask anyone across the teams to describe our culture, and you’re likely to get many different versions of the same answer. We’re ambitious. We're kind. We're resilient and like building things with super smart people. We love working hard, challenging convention and making big things happen.
Perhaps the DNA of our culture is rooted in the fact that our first office was on a farm and perhaps some of that straightforward, resourceful and family orientated approach to solving problems and working together is still with us today.

What we're building is crazy complicated, ambitious and we're still a small team. Our sleeves need to be permanently rolled up as we take responsibility for solving an issue, fixing a problem or coming up with an idea to help us progress. Some of our best ideas have come from our most junior teammates having the confidence to speak up and we hope that never changes.
What we are trying to achieve would be impossible without a culture that starts with that attitude and recognises that everyone has a unique and crucial role to play. As with any complex project that pushes boundaries, we also try new things and make mistakes. We've made plenty, but we're human and open when it doesn't work out as we hoped and need to quickly change tack.

At the heart of our culture are our four core values. They’re a short hand of how we work, what we stand for and how we interact with each other. They’re what we look for in every potential new joiner
Stable sleeves are permanently rolled up. We solve problems, find solutions, get involved and take responsibility.
Nothing is swept under the carpet. We know that clear goals and honest, productive feedback are essential for the health of our company. We have the courage to voice our true opinion and the commitment to deliver it with kindness.
We onboard brilliant and ambitious individuals, but only promote people who understand that our strength comes from our team. We explain, we communicate, we share, we help and we celebrate other people's success.
We never forget why we're here. We all succeed by helping our members grow faster, save money, protect jobs and make big things happen.

Reimagining risk management takes a smart and diverse team that truly represent our members. They are able to contribute their best work and ideas because they feel safe to be themselves at Stable. This security and confidence makes it easier to stay open to different perspectives, processes, ideas and to trying new things.
We were founded by a farmers son (without many qualifications), and our first employee was a Chinese math genius with a PhD. Our departments are now led by Louise who grew up in Mississippi and now lives in Milan and Marco who worked hard enough to get to Harvard and now lives in Houston.
With over 10 nationalities and 43%-57% Female/Male ratio we've made a good start as we try to live up to our firm commitments in this area.
We simply can't do it any other way. Our differences make Stable who we are, and we want to create an environment which welcomes people of all backgrounds and identities, making Stable a global, innovative and confident community to be part of.
Our foundation was setup on the first day our company existed. As we've grown the company we've been able to grow our foundation in lockstep and it's an area that we want to take much further so we can increasingly connect our team and their skills to some of the initiatives we support.
